For
2010 the "Personality"
award has been split into two separate awards, "Australian Instructor of
the Year" and "Australian
Line Dancer of the Year". The former is for who you (the
voter) thinks is the best instructor, dedicated to their students
& catering for their needs (it doesn't have to be the teacher
of the class you go to).
The Line Dancer
of the Year Award is a nomination award.
It is intended to recognise those who have contributed to promoting
line
dancing beyond the interests of their own club, have done charity work
etc. It is not
meant to recognise your favourite instructor. When
nominating, you must include the reasons for the nomination. The winner
will be whoever gets the most nominations that meet the
criteria of this award (please
avoid reasons such as ‘Best teacher around’). The Line Dancer award is
open to all resident Australians involved in line dancing, be they
instructors,
choreographers, dancers, 'helpers', website operators etc and is the
only category for which non-dancers are eligible.
