Congratulations
to our Kristine (Booth) who has shown her expertise at Tamworth
Competitions, January as well as May, coming home with an abundance of
medals. Although dancing with Southern Cross Competition Team,
she has been with In-Line Dancers since year 2000, starting with her
daughter, continuing with teenage son, Craig who won Encouragement
Award at Gosford 2002 Competions. She has been a loyal team
member and friend, always there to give a hand when needed. Our Demo Team has a new Summer Uniform as you no doubt noticed on HOME page, from Royal Blue to Sky Blue Shirts, looks good. Although not everyone is included in group photo, we have 21 active team members with average attendance of 12 dancers performing at over 80 venues this past year. We welcomed our 2 newest recruits, Phyllis Brierly and Veronica O'Shea, who have melded in fabulously. If you know of any Nursing Home, Aged Care, Retirement Village or Community Group who need entertainment, feel free to recommend In-Line Dancers. Unlike some dance groups we do not perform for the money, we only ask for a very small honorarium to cover costs. As the saying goes ' Life is short, you get back what you give', lots and lots of Smiles and Smiles. ![]() Talking about Smiles ... We are having our 9th BIRTHDAY SMILEY SOCIAL on Sunday afternoon 6th July at Bankstown RSL Club. If you didn't make our Birthday Social last year don't miss out this time. We have the best time, lots of fun with ' goodies' for everyone, complete details on SOCIALS page. For those who do not know, I run a Leisure Learning Centre on Fridays at Kogarah. After 28 years at St.Pauls Church Hall Kogarah, we have just relocated to our new venue at Kogarah RSL Club. If you have Fridays free, why not come along and join us, learn a new skill with over 13 classes to choose from, Line Dancing of course is included. Very friendly, very relaxing, very inexpensive, very informative, what more could you ask for - click here for Comprehensive Program. ![]() HEART & SOLE BALL in April... Our group attended and was enjoyed by all, joining up with Robert Fletcher from Greyhound Club travelling there and back by Coach worked out really well. Well done Committee - lots of positive comments - dance program great, entertainment great, table allocation great, hall decorations great, atmosphere great, music volume great, dancer numbers for hall area great. Negative comments - 1 hot food outlet, 1 cold food outlet, 1 drinks outlet for over 900 people not good enough. Queuing up for 1/2 to 1 hour not much fun when you were not allowed to even bring your own water into venue. Very frustrating for many stuck in queue while one or more of your favourite dances is being played. Suggestion - Would be better for pre hour 5 to 6pm be with no dancing, allowing time to purchase food and drinks without frustration of hearing your dance being played without you. Would even be better if premises could be opened 1/2 hour earlier. Hope Committee does not get carried away and sell more tickets to next years Ball - 900 was just the right number. One final comment - vocal side of sound equipment left a lot to be desired, hard to understand, very muffled. ![]() Finishing with a Smile: LAW OF LOCATION: No matter where you go, there you are. LAW OF THE RESULT: When you try to prove to someone that something won't work, it will. LAW OF CLOSE ENCOUNTERS: The possibility of meeting someone you know increases dramatically when you are with someone you don't want to be seen with. ![]() |
