Just back from a beautiful weekend down the south coast. Shoalhaven Linedancers held a social on Sunday afternoon at the Country Club where they hold Sunday classes and socials every week, Pink & Purple Theme, very pretty. Mary, Lee, Jenny. Liddie, Cynthia (Mary Kay), David, Richard and I were there for the weekend at our holiday house in Vincentia (fantastic weather). A bit of shopping on Saturday morning, coffee with a water view, dinner at the club that evening and some dancing afterwards, then home to bed for a good nights' sleep to prepare for a big afternoon of dancing on Sunday, a couple of the girls went for a walk on the beach before breakfast, but I think Lee needed her morning cappucino and was actually at the coffee shop, because she came back with 2 huge cream tea cakes from Bakers Delight, each one containing enough calories for a normal person for 2 weeks! Rhonda and Carol, who are president and secretary of the Shoalhaven Country Linedancers Accociation did a excellent job as usual and Laurels programme kept the floor full to capacity, 90 plus attended with dancers from Milton, Sussex Inlet, Batemans Bay and of course my group from Sydney.

For those who don't have children or grandchildren at school, it's that time again, school holidays and I usually take a bit of a break to recharge the batteries, programme classes for the next term and prepare for Christmas celebrations which are just around the corner. Sometimes I even get to go to the movies with the grandkids, always preceded and followed by a cappucino (much needed) and a couple of babychinos. The hot weather is already with us, so don't forget to keep hydrated-preferably non alcoholic fluids but you could always compensate with extra water in your scotch, or an extra cup of tea! As I have already mentioned, Christmas is just around the corner, not that you would need reminding, and we are looking forward to a stinking hot one in the tropics. Cairns actually, with our son, Chris and his lovely wife Helena, who thankfully have bought a home in Cairns, with air-conditioning and a pool. I bet we'll be dreaming of a WHITE CHRISTMAS!

Dates for the coming term 4 are up on the classes page.

My students have enjoyed some good music this term, mixed with old and new dances. I can't help but feel that some of the new music being used by choreographers is not as appealing.

Margret Pacitti (with some help from her husband, Richard) has been teaching line dancing, swing, rockabilly and rock n roll in Western Sydney since 1992. Originally as Hawkesbury Linedancers & Happy Days Rock 'n Roll, now teaching as
Born to Boogie. In 2000 Richard & Margret decided to concentrate on line dancing closer to home and currently teaches at George's Hall, Granville & Parramatta. In addition Margret also teaches at retirement villages and for groups such as Legacy.

Margret (also known as Miss Lovely Legs) is a familiar face on the Sydney line dance scene, having been around since the early days, having over a dozen instructors across Western Sydney under her wing. One of the original line dance groups in Sydney, Born to Boogie is still going strong. Margret is also well known at her home-away-from-home, on the mid NSW South Coast, being a frequent guest there at classes, workshops and socials (and on more than the occasion, running the show). Margret and Richard have also, for many years, taught Rock 'n Roll dancing, although these days they just enjoy social dancing and can be found many an evening at a Rock 'n Roll venue. For further details, bookings or information on the Legacy & other classes, please contact Margret at 0409-998-868 (Mobile), 02-9639-4644 (home) or by email (born2boogie @ bigpond.com).
